Trolloween 1999

Summary:

Members of the Anunnaki were asked to organize The Fremont Arts Council's 1999 Halloween festival, Trolloween. A difficult event in financial trouble, they managed to make it the most profitable Trolloween ever and the first Trolloween where there were no safety violations reported afterwards.

Development:

Splitting the event into the three traditional segments, we had Maque Davis coordinate the traditional Council of Trolls, John Murphy focussed upon the Troll-a-gogo.

The Council of Trolls was fantastic being the first year an actual wedding took place during the festivities it marked a new level of community festival and ritual.

Troll-a-gogo was given the space in the Redhook Brewery this year, and the Anunnaki made good use of it, providing an indoor celebration with Henna tattoos, Tarot, Astrology and roving stilt walkers.

For entertainment at Troll-a-gogo, we brought in the spectacular fire of Magmavox, the dark beauty of Spiral Kiss and, of course, an appearance by The Cabiri.

Retrospective:

We were a bit nervous, having the President of the Fremont Arts Council give us the conditions of "shoestring budget and it has to make a profit" we realized we had been given a truly impossible task. Through a massive group effort, we pulled it off, and ended up having the time of our lives!

Special thanks to Lee Zuhars for duty above and beyond the norm!
