| Visions in the Banya |
| 05/24/10 |
In the cold steppes of the Scythian plateau it is well understood that the rider of the steppe would want to warm themselves in a warm bathhouse. In fact, throughout the slavic lands the bathhouse was the center of community activity. People gathered themselves and delivered platza to one another.
To this warm space a relative of the Domovoi would gather. Moving amongst the bathers in the steam the Bannik would get energized as the bathers would beath themselves with the birch and oak venik bundles. In the ecstasy the bannik would whisper tot he bathers of their fortunes and fate telling them of their future and the world.
